Nomad Localization and Why We Do It

Since the launch of our Nomad digital assistance web-app, we received positive response and it’s thrilling to see users actually using our app! We would get all excited over a live-chat session, like a kid being given a “Star” sticker.

Launching the web-app is just the beginning of a new journey. Under the hood, we are constantly updating and debugging. It may not have any effect to the users, but we know. At the same time, we continue to innovate. And we’re proud to announce that we have just released a new feature for Nomad!

Just like calling a hotline, you can choose the language you want to converse in. Why, isn’t English the international language that is well accepted globally? The fact is, English is not the mother tongue for 94% of people in this world. Very often we get callers who, before saying anything else, would ask if the call agent can speak in the language that they are comfortable in.

In countries like Malaysia and Singapore in particular, the population consists of people of different races.  While our 24×7 call centre has multi-lingual capability, it is only natural that our app is “Asianized” too.

Innovations don’t have to be industry-shaking

Innovation comes by listening. Localizing our digital assistance app isn’t just a nice-to-have. It is important to us because capturing accurate information is key to render the right help to the customer. Also, rather than simply translating text, each page is adapted to the local culture of our target customer.

Quoting Nona Phinn who wrote an article for Forbes – Innovations don’t have to be industry-shaking. We can’t agree more. It’s the little little things that we do to enhance our service delivery, one step towards better user experience.
